A Hastings-based potter who’s happiest behind a potter’s wheel or elbow deep in clay.

I’ve been pottering since 2014 and have gone from a rookie hobbyist to an intrepid business owner. I’m still learning, but that’s the joy of ceramics; there are so many things to discover, techniques to master and glazes to experiment with.

My pottery has a modern, rustic feel and I like to play around with glazes to see the colourful reactions that happen in the kiln that make each piece unique.

I first started selling my work during Covid via Etsy. The first piece I listed was a tall vase and it sold within 1/2 hour of going live. Now this could be the magic of Etsy’s algorithms, but regardless, I was chuffed to bits and it gave me confidence to list some more to see where it would lead.

It’s taken a while to establish my style and to be honest, I’m still working on it. But although my work has evolved, there have been three beliefs that I have stuck to: 

• To keep things simple.

• To make things from the heart.

• To keep being curious.
