It’s happening - yikes!
As I write this I can hear the banging, sawing, singing and general chatter coming from the builders that are renovating my unused garage into a pottery studio.
In a week’s time it will be finished and I can start decorating and getting it ready for me to use. I have an extensive shopping list on both Ikea, Amazon and The Pottery People and am researching glazes. I’m so chuffed to be able to do this and I can’t wait to get behind (my own) wheel and start making things. Below are a few pics of the garage before and during the build.
There will be more to follow…
Adding a skylight has been an integral part of the project. Lighting and ventilation are key for any pottery studio and this new window ticks all the boxes. I’ll be keeping the concrete floor to comply with the kiln specs and planning to be vigilant when it comes to dust particles and cleaning. There are so many elements to consider but safety takes priority over aesthetics. (And yes, that is actual blue sky you can see through the skylight - not a plastic covering).
