As heavy as an overweight panda.

It’s not been a good day.

It is the day before the kiln delivery, a moment that I have been anxiously awaiting for some weeks. I had ordered my kiln from a company that offered a set up service, meaning they would meet the van at my property, bring it into the studio, set it up and show me how to use it. All of the other places that sold kilns advised that delivery would be ‘kerb side only’, so this service is brilliant for those who live on their own and would otherwise struggle to get such a hefty piece of equipment through the door.

However, after chasing up multiple times, I discovered today that this service isn’t available to me in Hastings; despite them telling me it would be fine a few weeks back when I placed the order.

The kiln weights 110kg which isn’t a weight I’m familiar with so hard to comprehend what this actually feels like. Google tells me it’s the same as ‘a heavyweight adult panda’.

Thanks Google, really useful.

Anyway, it’s been a stressful afternoon trying to organise help for tomorrow. Having only moved here recently I don’t know anyone well enough to ask for help shifting a fat panda up my steep driveway. But I think I have it covered, we’ll just have to wait and see.
